In my Survey of User Experience Design course I was tasked
with redesigning a website of my choice. The website I chose
was “Eat This Much.UX laws and practices were studied in
order to fix possible issues within the chosen site.
The Problem:
Eat This
Much
(Redesign Project)
Sitemap
Before I could go about redesigning the “Eat This Much” website I
first had to understand the layout of the site.
So I learned the skill of creating my first sitemap which can be
viewed below.

The Goal:
The over all goal was to study UX laws and practices in order to fix
possible issues within the chosen site.
Once the Sitemap was completed it was then time to further inspect the website. I used
the Laws of UX to identify issues or pitfalls within the website.
Three issues stood out to me. The law of Aesthetic-Usability Effect, Tesler’s Law, and
Fitt’s Law.
After identifying these violations I worked to fix them in my Mid-Fidelity Wire Frame.
Wire Frames:
Mid-Fy
High-Fy
Feedback:
Finished Product
Receiving feedback on a project is important for it’s future success. My
classmates viewed my work and gave me feedback on what went well
and what might or what defiantly needs work still.
The following is the website redesign after receiving said feedback.
What surprised me the most from this project was my ability to match
colors in a tasteful way after receiving the tools to do so.
The most important skill I learned during this time spent was that of
being able to properly measure distances of items so I could copy said
measurements in another area.
In the future will seize the opportunity to add more features to a website
to make it more user friendly and I will look to change the overall look
and feel of the site so that it is more energetic and inviting. The end
result will feel like a true redesign.
I loved the process and the tedious work involved in this project. It gave
me a purpose and a goal to reach for. Where I “failed” I want to improve
and where I “succeeded” I want to refine. I will push forward to the goal
of being a brilliant UX designer.
